Things you may be pondering...
Here are a few of our most frequently asked questions and the answers to them. If you can't find what you're looking for, please just get in touch!
When should I book in?
As soon as you can! Get in touch as soon as you’ve set a date and we can sort out all the finer detail nearer the date.
Do you deliver and where to?
Yes - we deliver all over the North West and Wales - and even to London if asked nicely! We charge a small fee for this service, dependent on distance from the studio. This includes delivery and set up of the cake, so you know everything is just as you want it to be.
Can I collect?
Of course. Just be aware that we are a family business run from a residential address, so visits have to be strictly by appointment only.
Can I have different flavours in each tier?
Absolutely - and if you really can't decide, every tier can be a different flavour.
My Grandma's fruit cake is a family legend - if she bakes it, will you decorate it?
Unfortunately not - sorry Grandma. We need to ensure that everything that leaves the studio is compliant with food hygiene regulations and the way we do this is by baking it all ourselves.
How long will my cake last?
All cakes are best eaten on the day but should be eaten within 48 hours.
Can we keep the top tier of our cake for a future christening or birthday?
If it's a fruit cake and uncut - of course you can. If you are planning to do this, please let us know at the design stage, as it will affect the number of portions you have to serve on the day.
Can you use fresh flowers on my cake?
Yes - although we love making and using sugar flowers, our designs can be adapted to accommodate fresh flowers. The prices quoted don't include the cost of fresh flowers, as these are usually provided by your florist to ensure that your cake matches your venue flowers and bouquet perfectly. You will need to check with your florist if any flowers in your arrangement are poisonous - these would not be good on your cake!!
I’m allergic to nuts, can I still eat cake?
A number of our recipes are nut-free, however our kitchen does use nuts and we can't guarantee that the cake will be nut-free. This applies to all allergens, for example gluten-free diets and wheat used daily in the studio.
I don’t drink alcohol, does that affect my cake?
Not necessarily but we do need to know in advance. Even if your cake recipe doesn’t include any alcohol, a lot of cake decorating techniques use alcohol that evaporates as it dries. This makes is perfectly safe for children and drivers but it wouldn't suit those who require absolutely no alcohol. There are alternatives we can use, so please just tell us.
Is there any small print I should know about?
Unfortunately, yes - it's here!
What happens to my data?
Are you registered with the Council?
