Payment and Deposit

A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm an order and hold the date. Priority will be given to customers who have made payment. The final balance is due 4 weeks before the delivery date, at which point the design must be confirmed. Any changes post this date may incur extra fees. Orders placed less than 4 weeks in advance of the delivery date must be paid in full. Failure to complete payment 4 weeks before the delivery date may result in your order being cancelled.  

Refunds and Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date. We cannot refund the cost of any orders cancelled with less than 4 weeks notice. Orders paid in full and cancelled with more than 4 weeks notice will receive a partial refund of 50% of the total amount paid. In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, we will give you as much notice as possible, and discuss the matter with you and try to agree a suitable alternative. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the amount paid by you to date in full.

Consultations

Consultations and tastings are by appointment only. A £25 non-refundable consultation fee must be paid prior to confirmation of appointment. If, following the appointment, an order is placed, the consultation fee is redeemable against the price of the order. Appointments are for a maximum of three people – additional attendees will be charged at £10 per person. All appointments for consultations will be confirmed in writing by Boutique Bakery.

Orders

It is the responsibility of the customer to read and check the order summary fully and confirm that it meets requirements; if you have any queries, please contact us immediately. Alterations and amendments must be submitted in writing. We will assess the request for an alteration, and endeavour to make alterations where possible, dependant on the design and amount of notice given. If the requested alterations affect the cost of the design or preparatory work has been undertaken, then the balance due will be updated.

Each cake is hand-made and designed so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, small variations may occur. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the quality of the finished product. e.g. weather conditions. We will notify you of any such changes and will endeavour to keep any changes minimal.

Cake Stand Hire

Cake stand hire is available if you are ordering a cake.  A hire fee plus a security deposit is required in advance, dependent on the stand requested. The stand should be returned to the studio address within three days (on a working day). Once the stand has been returned undamaged, the security deposit will be returned. In the event that the stand is not returned or is returned damaged, the deposit will not be refunded. 

Cake Delivery, Collection, Location and Set-Up

The cost of delivery and set-up will be made clear in the price quoted.  If the venue is altered, this cost is subject to change. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the venue supply a suitable table and location for the cake(s) to be displayed. Cakes placed outside are liable to react to the temperature and in hot or humid weather there is the possibility of sugar decorations melting or damage to the cake. Although care is taken when transporting your cake, damages in transit can happen. We carry a repair kit and in circumstances where damage has occurred, we will endeavour to make repairs at the venue, as close to the original design as possible. We cannot be held liable for any damage that may occur to the cake after it has been delivered to the agreed location and therefore require signature on a Delivery Note from a responsible person to confirm receipt of the goods. In the event that you chose to collect from our studio, we cannot be held liable for any damage that occurs after they have left the studio.

Non-Edible Ingredients and Decorations

Cakes may contain non-edible ingredients or decorations, such as plastic dowels in tiered cakes or wires in some sugar flowers. These will be detailed on the Delivery Note and must be removed before serving or eating.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

Please discuss any allergies or special dietary requirements with us before making payment. We can offer various dietary options; however, our products are not suitable for those with allergies as our kitchen handles wheat and nuts.

Best Before Date

Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event. We cannot guarantee its quality if it is consumed more than 48 hours after the event. Our cakes are made with fresh ingredients, with no additives or preservatives, and therefore do not have the shelf-life of supermarket bought goods.

Complaints

If you have concerns about your cake, please notify us on delivery/ collection/ inspection so we have the opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. If you wish to make a complaint to us, please do so in writing within 24 hours, providing evidence of the faults. Any refunds will be given entirely at our discretion – no refunds are given for change of mind.
